Grand Street. I passed no fewer than four seafooders with ice piled high in sidewalk baskets, lobsters laid out along with hundreds of crabs. Big flopping muscles of fish on ice all along the walls into the infinity of stores so packed with goods that they … I don’t quite know. They’re just thick with business, moving product all day long.

And they just might get it from the New Fulton Fish Market. Did a quicky googlee and found that’s where it’s at for those in need of ocean-faring vessels of tasty life. Second in size only to a more gargantuan market in Tokyo. Their hours are from 1am-7am every day. Oof.

I’d love to live above one of these things. Or perhaps on the 3rd floor. I think the chance of one of these opening across the street in the, lets see, “10,406sf Flagship Retail with 23′ ceiling heights with 115′ of frontage” is very small. But that’s not to say I won’t soon be overlooking such an operation. I have hopes.

For now.
