The bus, that is. The tourist bus. The double decker kind with no roof on top. Seats exposed to the beating Havana sun. A guard bar at the front that kisses hanging power lines, offering perhaps a second’s advance notice to any unsuspecting stander.
And as much as I hate to be that tourist, gawking at a populace from a shuttle throne, it was the vantage I needed. Long telephoto views from about 10 feet of elevation. If you shoot this just standing on the street you don’t see down the street. That plane gets too crunched.
I’m just now going through these shots. They were deposited in a deep folder somewhere when time was short. And now I’m reliving that bus ride through the city, one street at a time.
Armchair touring.
