I’ll admit it. I love’em. Love the density. The stackedness. The newness and communality that means you won’t have to deal with cranky old boilers, dampness, creaky floors. The challenging part is the cost. That whole $1000+ per square foot part of the equation.
I figure the market’ll tank again in the next 5 years. Probably 2-3 years out. There’s a boom in Boston right now and perhaps a dozen projects are going up over 20 stories. And much more under that. The market has always been and will always be cyclical. My first home will hopefully be acquired at the bottom of the cycle, with a nice fat down payment courtesy of years of honest labors.
