Soy. A word/name not from the halls of Gravity Branding (creators/namers of “wi-fi”). But it strikes me as gloriously succinct and improbably contemporary, NEW-sounding. Evocative of something pharmacologically synthetic, yet technically “natural” minus a couple millenia of human tampering and thorough downstream processing.
It even fared well in other languages. Edamame. Four syllables that are capable of creating an instant 1000% mark-up if combined with a little salt and applied heat in a white porcelain bowl.
Even brushing aside all of this upper level cultural interpretation and positioning, the original scientists couldn’t help but bestow upon this humble Fabales-order organism the unique name of “GLYCINE MAX.”
Enjoy a smooth glass of soy.
