Lifelikeness as subjective choice. Technical limitations lead to onerous workarounds that put plenty of options on the table. Pull out the security cameras? Probably not. Pull off the papers taped to the wall? Probably… at least for the portfolio.
But it reaches into the experience of the space. How light/dark should the ceiling be? How does one experience the ceiling when in the space? Certainly it doesn’t get 40% of your field of vision as it does here. So should its emphasis be lessened? Or should it be emphasized to confront you with an intentional component of the space?
These are the questions that come after the general corrections. And they just might serve to separate the work from the ordinary, if done well. One might even deem it a personal style.
Figuring it out.
