I’m still amazed by the sheer architectural magnitude of big churches in Boston. Sure yeah we’ve built taller since, and with all kinds of snazzy materials and pushed new materials to their limits. Big whup. All around us are these towering monuments of stone with design and detail so amazing as to be absurd, dismissible as something too amazing to comprehend.

But alas I’m training my eye onto smaller, more rectangular structures. Starting small. Hoping to get a solid handfull of tiny boutiques and cafes under my belt before progressing into places with more than one room.

One at a time.
