Defending Lines
The lights have found new life. No longer is night polo relegated to a single shower of dim incandescence. Mighty obelisks of steel shoulder dozens of semi-spheres of directed illumination. Sunset without the sundark.
One of the original gang made it back for the weekend, a well-mannered brute of a man, unafraid to deploy his farmer’s shoulders in contests for ball control.
A final game with him and another of the founding fathers against the new crop of contenders. ‘Twas not pretty for them. Three of us guys having played together since 2007 makes for a heck of a team. Deep mutual tactical understanding.
Pure pleasure, 8-0.
