What a lovely surprise it is to see a newly built out store. Especially if it’as gone from a slouchy wreck plagued by vacancy to a spiff and splendid well-lit beacon of commercial transaction.

I know not how long Lucky’s been in this perch. This mash of rectangles that is half submerged, topped off with a dominant black hat, with deeply inset entrances. It’s lovely.

And perhaps more importantly; it’s unique. It is not a beige strip-mall store. It’s pure Newbury.

Open for business.
