Brick colored vinyl. Vinyl colored vinyl. Washable, easily replaceable, earthquake resistant. A far cry from the literal brick and mortar homestead that my flesh finds itself within, contractually bound to a reasonable timeline.
Whatever lays beyond my normal routine may as well not exist. There’s the tight cluster of neighborhoods I know well, having probably walked or biked around 90% of the public space over the years. But further out? It’s nearly inconceivable. Wholly unconsidered.
Whatever the case, the months roll along and in time I just might find myself among others within other walls. Where those walls are, and how much light they get may be priorities, but they’re somewhere. Thousands of walls out there that I’d be happy to be within. To literally inhabit and lock myself behind in the wee hours.
Life, living.
