Oy. The photo project lifecycle continues to churn and occupy the consciousness machine. Collecting specimens after work from a dozen cashiers who have become machine-like, masters of neutrality. Free of will whilst on the clock, devices of output after input.

Honest and hardworking, and generally reciprocally friendly, they seem to deal differently with scratch-ticket buyers. A seasoned blankness, broken only by requests to Please Speak More Clearly when asking which tickets you want and that’ll be $5. It’s the absence of thank you, have a nice day, cheers (I’ve never heard a c-store operator say Cheers), or any nicety.

Moving now to the Photoshopry, stitching and sharpening and blackening and sizing and a dozen other prep labors. Scrutinizing the screen’s cast light, adeptly flowing through the process yet wishing I knew it more thoroughly, deeperly. Then to print, frame, live with, send to chosen recipients on good will and the off chance that it might generate a mention.

Work after work.
