February’s taking its sweet time with getting on out of here. Ohhh, hummm. Maybe I’ll stick around for anooooother week. Sprinkle some snow, cool things down a bit further, cloud up the commuters. But will it gracefully melt into the recent past or gnash its bitter winter teeth and harry the cityfolk until a dramatic midnight finish?
Whatever the case, snowbanks are pretty good uglifiers of Boston. Minneapolis, not so much. There they have these kind of regal white mounds that grow for months, supporting a unified bright blanket over the land. Here in Boston they’re malformed and smushed in about two days, splattered with street crud and seeped in malodor via yellowed edges.
It’ll be March by Friday.
