The formula and its variants. Didn’t have to go more than a block out of my way on the walk home to encounter eight Starbuckses. No doubt there were more within another block’s grasp. My morning cup is typically from a local chain, but alas I’ve procured my hit from no fewer than six different companies in the last week or so.

Thinking of ways to exercise the architectural-exterior-eye/mind-musculature. I’ve been trying to shoot facades every day but it’s not until I think of a theme/project that the practice really ramps up. It’s a walk home like any other, why not casually shoot every Starbucks I can find?

Maybe next time I’ll have the tripod with me, notch it up a bit. Or shoot the Dunkin’s. Or the burrito joints. Luxury boutiques. It’s like I’m setting myself up to build a significant and towering portfolio, but I haven’t even decided what to pour the foundation with. I’m still excavating the lot, and who knows, I might just happen upon some unexpected treasures that’ll set in motion something entirely different.

Five beans per cup?
