Luxury’s Luxury

A practice in human environmental elevation, compartmentalization. Interested parties, financial models, signed paperwork, untold wheelbarrows full of odorant cash.

Boston is booming. Karachi, not so much. The booms there aren’t the rhythmic, deeply unsettling booms of pile drivers, but rather the erratic cackling of Kalashnikovs. Police raids as media blitzes, as if the show Cops took the entire precinct out for a parade of force.

Such are the sights provided by the journalists from Vice, seen via screen courtesy of their media team. I can’t remember the last time I watched the traditional tele. For my occasional bouts with cushion-comforted passivity, I chose VICE.

Far from Newbury.
