White Angles

I must first admit my appreciation for some good’ol white. White walls, white frames, white details and some glass thrown into the mix. White well done is a thing of beauty indeed.

A beveled window-side mirror stands on my radiator and splits sunlight into its spectrum all morning long. A patch of rainbow migrates from wall to dresser, hallway to cabinet. Cast upon a seven-layer matte white, the spectrum is stupefying, engrossing.

Not unlike the painter’s canvas, the studio photographer can work endlessly on white. Subtract from, displace the whiteness with beings, things. The temporary presence of matter situated within the eye of the camera, translated into sheer information.

Above, my work’s walls.
