The shoe-boot hybrid was once warm, waterproof, lovable, even stylish. But now, within three blocks of wet snow, both feet are overcome by a new habitat. A veritable squish with every step, and the degree of coldness that discourages one at the outset from taking the scenic route home.
I figured if the power went out I’d be able to at least read by the overcast light pollution. Seeing the flawed logic there, I guess I’ll just have to hope for some raging fires to light up my pages. I’ll still have to contend with the snow’s ever-increasing coverage of my windows.

Warm inside.
