The Wednesday that strangely flowered a thicket of Saturday plans. Something like five invitations poured in, and in my sludge-like response to them I’ve committed my word to just one (though the word was “maybe”).
After an extended pause here, mind aflutter but seemingly distant, I can report that I have but a single day’s remaining inventory of newspaper to read at breakfast. A startling revelation to be sure, a big handful that will feed global news cycle frenzy for days (“but what will he do FRIDAY??? We reveal the shocking truth that this young graduate something or other news news”) until some natural disaster or scandal or new war upends my dominance of world information consumption.
On that note, the Onion beckons. Great stuff. Headlines right now include “Teenage girl blossoming into beautiful object,” “North Korea celebrates as Kim Jong-Un becomes first man to walk on moon,” and “Apple announces plans for new iPad with extra storage drawer.” And to think we could all survive without an extra storage drawer. Foolish. Redemption at last.
Back to tiltyshifty.
