The flurrious night and a blustery day. Branches made skeletal, enhanced beyond their normal veiny brownness. Looking out now, to my left, at branches bare again, relieved of their snow burden. No longer visible in the night without the help of a neighbor’s lit window.

Reading Stephen King’s On Writing and beginning to understand how little I know about the written word. Its components, variables, and of course the various approaches of those who pen it. After years of exploring the techniques that underly photographic creation, I’ve been writing all along without any real understanding.

And these past couple of days have been a complete submersion in a potential re-project. Breaking those bottles, trying to do it well. Thinking about limitations and constraints, then testing their reality in a kind of dense frustration. It’s not hard until you think about it.

50/50, shattered or unshot.
