It continues, it and everything that is it. Day by day. Two more days of it until a reprieve, a brief interlude in the cycle of seasons to be taken in a far off land dotted with cold blue pools.
A time between the months of labor that will ultimately feel too short, ephemerally given over to some pleasant memories and gigabytes of images. My passage of time always documented to some degree, snippets of experience flattened into unimaginably long lines of code that can later be conjured into nostalgia by a microprocessor.
And during this separation from routine a different sequence of habits arises. Breath by breath, day by day with my high-school-era view outside my window. All the while cloaked in anticipation, temporarily dismissible but always hanging overhead. The return departure, the farewell to what was anticipated and then was.
