A cold day on the courts, cold enough to somehow spur some winterian urge to engage in simulated struggle (sport?) in the local polo brains. Something like fifteen persons made it out – joyous to find themselves in such good company, unjoyous to have to wait for the on-court schmucks to finish up their game already.
A double-long weekend coming to its conclusion now, Boston darkness outside obscured by the window’s reflection of interior illumination. Where I can glance rightward and see myself looking back, hands extending out of the frame to an unseen keyboard.
The steam engine of the mind slowed, trainloads of motivational momentum slowly rolling themselves out. Of wheels coming to a stop through only the friction of their own design and not an applied brake. At present there is no omnipresent controlling mechanism within or without me, and so it’s the totally open abundance of the world versus the whims and whelps of my mind.
Retiring soon.
