As the World Turns

The clothes go round and round as ideas spin and spurl within the calcium cage that holds my brainpiece. Cold hands switching from page flipping to pen gripping to tapping in oily silence on a glass screen.

Finding places to work outside the home so as to avoid seven hours in the same chair on the same screen. Traditionally it’s been libraries, bars and coffee shops, but what about laundromats, subway seats, and the solitary lunch table?

I don’t work effectively for long in silence. There’s music on at the very least at home, but I think that I think more when I’m immersed in a symphony of ill-maintained squealing gears, when my seat is lurching, and when commerce is buzzing.

Giddy with resolutions (fantasies?).
