Accompanying words as personal diary, an inward dialog with a future self (if I ever revisit this or the other 962 posts), versus a collection of thoughts for public consumption. The reminder that of course, people care about themselves. And then a question of audience. Though I know some of my regulars, I had people visit today from Switzerland, the Philippines, France, Spain, India, Ukraine, Germany, Ecuador, and the UK.

The bigger question is more about the purpose of this writing. I’ve found increased pleasure in this daily composition, but it’s been admittedly more about me. And through some strange disregard for the reader, it’s become more personal, more explorative, more expressive.

However, though more personal, it’s also increasingly guarded. I will rarely opine about my day job (I legitimately fear even mentioning it, really) and I’ll typically obscure my mental state beyond the physiological (fatigue is made clear, but levels of contentment probably must be read between the lines). Full disclosure: this is typically written late at night (it does come more naturally that way), and since I shortly thereafter fall asleep without rigorous refinement, I haven’t a clue what I’ve written by tomorrow.

Seen here, today’s Sunday, like the majority since 2007.
