From the long weekend walk, the sidewalk observation of surrounding structures. Of lines that dictate boundaries of habitation and the energy that powers the devices of our lives.
I have this fixation on large gridded apartment buildings, of untold floors of uniformity. From the outside the architect is in control, but each individual personality within the walls rules the styling and overall atmosphere of each interior sanctum.
Getting lost in Hong Kong (via Google Street View), especially along the more major thruways, amidst the towers of life, of the thousands of persons all stacked upon each other, each with life and work in some combination. Of wondering if and when I’ll join their ranks as a rectangle in the grid.
Monday Thinking.
