So I’ve made something of a deal with myself to shoot a self portrait every day in the new apartment. Really just to force myself to exercise the photo muscles, but more specifically those dealing with portraiture and interior spaces.
It’s almost comic that I didn’t notice until now how off the facial expression is in this shot. Except that it’s entirely accurate, a pristine capture of the mood at the moment. This “ok I’ll walk over here and try it here and see how it looks from here ok I heard the shutter.” Not the type of image I’d generally release – it looks like I failed in that tiny department – but alas here it tells this story.
I’ve also begun running. And so on top of the blog, I now try to run and self portray every day. Running gets cut when freelance piles up. Self portrayal will inevitably get cut when I forget one day, waking the next with a shrug.
To Friday.
