Backing it up a bit to times of photographic past. Of earlier Gustavian creations from the sidewalk vantage. Capitalizing on commercial glass exteriors, the large panes that help display so well the offerings within.
Also a good reminder to keep carrying my camera on the three-block stretch from subway to work’s doorstep. And to depart earlier so as to give myself a couple extra blocks’ worth of visual morning perusal.
Also, I’ll plug Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential again. Proudly. A phenomenal tale of gruesome meritocratic toil in pursuit of lifely gratification. Or something. Really it’s just passion. Overflowing for decades in his case. (Or was it desperation?)
To open now a new book, and then to sink weightless into adventures comprised of whatever’s lurking in the mind.
