Realizing now, long after having composed a title that evokes the deep rumbles or sharp cracks that are the result of such spectacular releases (concentration?) of energy, that there was no sound accompanying the show. Just far-off invisible midnight clouds that were nearly constantly illuminated by bolts, a low-altitude light show in complete silence.
And strangely contained. No clouds overhead (thus the stars) and the action was all in one small stretch. Nothing really happened outside of what’s seen here. In a wider shot with more of the city these clouds looked fake. Like they were just dropped in over one part.
Whatever the case, just another view from the hotel. Right next to the chair from yesterday’s post actually. That was a good spot, that corner.
