The impending downtown. The collared young gents roaming in small packs from and to meetings. The women in heels, walking swiftly with a sense of purpose. The daytime economy of a city’s center.
It’s very Chicagoan. Very much like what I found myself shooting on Michigan Ave over many weekends a couple years ago when I lived in the all-American sprawl of such a thoroughly American city.
It’s the asphalt passageways at the bottom of the valley of buildings, the ant-like bipedal beings that flit about, buying shoes and walking into the steel mountains to get back to work. A land of engineered geometry.
