Marts, courts, streets, facades of glass and streets of poured stone. Such is the downtown landscape of Boston. A place I’ll be getting much more familiar with come mid June. I’ve taken a job on this very block, albeit turned 90 degrees and up a couple handfuls of floors. From student to salaryman.
I suspect I’ll start photographing much more in these manmade valleys and alleys, in the smushed grid of pathways that the windows look onto and beyond. Before work, after work, maybe some lunchtime jaunts. The summer light should offer a couple months of luminance, though it’s hard to know if I’ll have the energy to shoot after retiring for the day.
Whatever the case, there’s a great density in it all. Compared to my modest residential location, the density and sheer verticality of downtown will no doubt offer a new canvas to play with.
Back to homework.
