Bleary Eyed

The cover has closed on the mountainous story of the weekend. After a good four hours of sitting in the dark, paying attention mostly to the cramps in my neck as the engines roared through black space, I landed in the East and continued my quest to complete the first paper I’ve had to write in about eight months. Another airport, another office.

And how office-like here to have the drop ceiling projected into the pre-morning sky. Diffused fluorescence behind soundproof panes of giant glass.

And beyond the unseen concrete are the fields of blinking lights, these little navigational dot markers for the thunderous vehicles that loft cabins through the sky.

Finally to bed.
