Wood life sure is different than city life. Example: City life – sit at a comfortable, warm dining room table and listen to David Foster Wallace, editing photos and casting the occasional blog. Wood life – skate across solitudinous expanses of untouched lake and walk through winding woodland trails, happening occasionally on deer spines left over from carnivorous scuffles, undoubtedly violent, brutal, lifelike.
Seen here is one such remain from the food chain process, surrounded by the encircling marks of seven pairs of skate blades and cross country skis. Horizonless, somewhat abstracted, lightly colored, and perhaps expressive in the throw of a painter’s wrist.
Back in the city, soon to a different city, researching work options in yet another city of international repute.
