Away from the city for a couple days now, cabin hopping with familial friends. Tonight a calm and thoroughly chilled evening with mostly clear skies. And a campfire that kept everyone somewhat warm, except for me, the wandering photographer who observed the warmth, but did not partake.
Always a pleasure to experiment with new lighting challenges. It was so dark out I couldn’t tell where the edges of the frame were through the viewfinder. All black ‘cept a tiny twinkle of orange in the fire. Give it thirty seconds though at 3200ISO and voila!
We could see plenty of stars out here away from the metropoapolis, but not nearly as much as show up here in this sky. Thanks photography.
Cabin number two forthcoming.
That cabin looks familiar! In fact, pretty sure it’s my grandpa’s. 🙂 Nice shot! I’ve been wanting to get up there and take some star shots myself. I really like your image. Nice work!
Hi Jessica – Indeed it is mr. Mike’s abode. He hosted my family there for a night over the holidays, heck of a place! I browsed through your portfolio site the other day and you’ve got some excellent work on there if I do say so myself.
