Broke out the beloved China coat today. A further ode to my love of concrete (apparently my affinity for grey garments is really some deep seated desire to be further surrounded by concrete). I’ll have to get a bit further into a tome of Jung I just started, maybe he’ll proffer some insights.
The project of the moment is understanding how light interacts with Newbury street, widely regarded as the most upscale and comprehensive shopping district in the entirety of New England. Recent work has brought me to its forefront to photograph its storefronts. The world is the studio.
Along with the more formal portraits of retail’s good side I shot a handful of this stuff. This low sun that blinded all those heading west on the north side of the street. Reminds me of the portfolio work I have from Madrid (see: http://unimaginableabundance.com/#1670906/MADRID ).
Tsingtao still reigns supreme.
