On Top of the Bottom

Daytripped to Manhattan yesterday. And it was as glorious as expected. Even with high expectations. Sleepers, walkers, shooters, and stylists all.

Just some fisheye play here with the now immortalized woman at my knee’s side. I have a lingering suspicion that my continued interest in creating photographs is linked in some profound way to the pursuit of the immortal. The creation of permanence via fleeting, unplanned acts (behaviours? [British spelling intended]).

At least for people photography, of people that I know. Or am acquainted with. Or have established some irrefutable contact with, even if minute, and thus a degree of interrelatedness. Funerals were discussed, and a sentence or two on the single image that will present the now dead to their surviving brethren and friendrethn(?) and likely live on to be the defining image of single human. The single image that would be cast in the immortal Facebook-like registry that some MIT whizkid might start up in the not to distant soon.

And was back before midnight.
