Driving S's

No camera time today, work work work and talk talk talk. But yesterday yielded two separate highlights, the above being the one unposted from yesterday. The more exciting, experientially thrilling side of the day. A fine way to start the commute home after a day of driving around on more traditional road systems.

Turnbull Canyon Road, a couple miles saturated with switchbacks, asphalt as contorted as some of my recent yoga experiences. The occasional sweat-drenched cyclist with lungs heaving, incrementally inching up to the peak. And the cyclists coming down, whipping around hairpins at extraordinary speeds, faces lit up in bliss.

The sky is particularly spectacular here, the way it kind of bleeds into the mountains and fades slowly into this faint color that hints at blue. And backlit brambles, a swivel sign, the rental car. Waiting to be barreled down the chute into Whittier and the freeway home beyond.

Low gear.
