Madrid Continued

***Polo newcomers, welcome! Every day a new photo.
***Regulars – polo photos from Barcelona on the EHBPC page above

Madrid in the morning, Segovia in the evening, and a wonderful winding ride home fraught with switchbacks and mighty curves abounding in a mini cooper ascending to 1800 meters and back down. Tomorrow’s the last full day in this faraway land, and I just may devote much of it to photographing more reflections in the thick of the commercial districts in downtown.

To begin, isn’t the surrounding blue color on the blog just excellent? There’s enough yellows in the photo to balance it out thankfully, but by god it’s a nice matte. In all of these reflection photographs the key, so far, is to have at least two reflecting surfaces at different angles along with some knowable perspective. It helps to establish some consistent structure, mostly in vertical rectangles, that gets layered a couple of times over.

Unfortunately I don’t think Boston’s streets will serve this style well – Newbury may be just about it, though perhaps I’ll find some goodness in the financial district. Manhattan, on the other hand, may be an excellent location to continue shooting this.

Jetlag soon, but still one more day!
