Madrid continues in its sunlit glory. And for a couple mid-day hours it is the kind of glory best observed from the confines of constructed space, out of reach of the smoldering rays that cast forth their radiant invisible infernos. On evening walks I’ve seen the poor souls who foolishly braved the heat, melted right into the sidewalks. Occasionally people simply evaporate, leaving behind a pile of burning clothes.
Once the sun tips a bit to one side however, there is shade aplenty on one side of the street and it’s go time. I find myself particularly attracted to framing people against the four-story buildings that abound in this city. The people become somehow delicate, little figurines in this amazing doll-house of a city.
Still going strong.
