Above the Walk

I’ve found myself peering up at helicopters whenever they flit along their merry way, these streamlined teardrops that seem to hover beneath the clouds while furiously beating down massive amounts of air to stay afloat. I’m reminded of my father’s tendency to get peeved by the low flying choppers in Minneapolis, noise and all. I share that attitude with the relentless ice cream trucks that patrolled a former locale of mine, but helicopters always seem to inspire some wonderment.

And now when I look upward at these crafts I raise my camera too, frantically dialing the shutter speed up so as to keep the sky blue and the tiny rotating blades still.

This just might turn into a series…
