As mentioned yesterday, this was the nighttime activity that forced early postment of my previous publicated content. I was not fit for writing last night, though sleep I could do with ease.
There’s a whole lot of crazy composition stuff going on here, as you can hopefully see. Leading lines fluttering about, sight lines shooting every which way, etc. Largely an accident, I admit. But nonetheless wonderful.
That’s nice and all, but in my own selfish way I like this photo because it shows me smiling in a good light. Anything above a fake smile will generally shed some warmth on a photo, but this takes it a step further into the realm of pure, genuine joy, manifested throughout the entirety of my face.
And that hand, gotta love that, right? A poorly contorted hand can sink a photo faster than a half-blink, but here it’s all equally spaced and neat.
In the background the girl leans, reading the heartfelt handwritten (in all caps) portions of my pocket journal.
