So there’s that whole thing about eyes being the window to the soul. Well, I’ll postulate right here and now that eye-glasses are some kind of one-way mirror that reflects the world back on itself, allowing the soul to be wholly alone and at ease despite being in the thick of everything.
On the flip side, this worn mirror gives the bystander a brief glimpse of themselves, albeit distorted and miniaturized. But for me it was enough to say wait! I need to photograph you, and it’s not you. It’s me. It’s me I see in you. But not you, in your glasses. Just hold on, lemme shoot.
Rocking a cheap tank top for the first time in my known life today, I’m pre-emptively striking at the farmers’ tan that I’ve had my entire summer life. And it’s darned comfortable. Such freedom.
And of course she’s a beaute, and that hair that wanders into blurrdom is so pleasant.
