Asphalt, Concrete & Water

So here’s the question. What style of photography is this. What would it be categorized with, filed under. Off the top of my head I figure it’s perhaps best identified as “observations in daily life” or something in that vein. However, it’s not about anything, and there’s no real documentary value beyond the fact that I, the shooter, will remember those shoes when I see it.

Perhaps it’s just an exploration of composition and aesthetics. I’ve certainly shot my feet/the ground below me before. I’ve shot puddles before. I’ve shot these very flat, horizonless rectangles of color before.

I don’t know, but I like it. Perhaps the bigger question is, could this be used in a video? This shot, this framing. How would it move/how could it progress through time? And more critically for me, how would that motion be achieved while keeping the camera steady and the composition constant?

Video work tonight.
