Decomposing Shoelaces

There was a great walk today among pals. A wandering overcast trot through neighborhoods and alongside rivers, past (passed?) drained, closed pools and marshy fields of grass. Standing beneath the rusty trusses of a train bridge as box cars roared overhead and thoughts of mortality uneasily swam in the heads below.

We found an old playground along the way, complete with a shiny metal slide. I took a ride, shortly followed by the other two. Now aren’t those just the sorriest shoelaces you’ve ever seen? At some point in the thick of salty slushy winter they rapidly fell on hard times. Since then I apparently have not walked past (passed?) a shoe store to retire them.

There just a hint of blur in everything but the shoes. Nearly unnoticeable until you can see the fine focus in seams on the jeans/shoes.

That’s Wednesday.
