Night Play

Long day. Woke up at five, arrived in Wonderful Manhattan around eleven, perused the AIPAD Photography Show until three (also shot a ton of video for Panopticon Gallery), and was back in Boston by nine. The seven hours spent in the car with a couple of art-obsessed elders will have an immediate and likely long-lasting impact on my approach to that which is photography.

I also was able to catch up on some much needed editing which turned up this capture from Tuesday’s late polo session. I don’t have it entirely figured out, but I most enjoy it. His form is sharp against the greyly illuminated asphalt. The cones stand battered but proud as they determine the fate of players’ careers by allowing or disallowing feeble attempts at greatness to pass.

It’s also entirely a result of me lugging my equipment out to the court and (admittedly begrudgingly) rigging up some lights to just shoot already! And so my archive swells.
