Angles of Hair

So I’ve realized people photography in the studio is difficult for me because I have no idea what I want. I’m used to staring at a wine bottle, shoe, or whatever else is in front of me for a couple minutes, really examining it. Popping off some shots, seeing what I see, generally experimenting. But when you have a live subject… all of a sudden I feel this immediate pressure to make something happen. It’s as if it’s expected that I have an exact idea of what I want.

The second thing I’ve realized is that I generally come out with much better material than I think I created. This is one such lovely.

More Saturday.
