The Distinctive Style

Like sunsets, camera wielding citizens flock to MIT’s Stata Center. Designed by none other than Gehry himself, it’s a sight to behold. I was hesitant to post this up simply because it’s … I don’t know. I like it, but it’s. ahhhh. No less than ten touristy types passed by me whilst I composed and shot a couple frames in this area.

I think the image is particularly successful because of the density of it all. There’s some sky, but even that is cut into a shape that looks like a geometry test question from hell.

The bottom left corner has stuff going on. The bottom right corner has a great diagonal coming off of it. Even the top corners have some pizazz.

Beyond this compositional stuff, it’s pure Gehry.
