Apparent High Ceilings

In addition to the meanderings through my workplace at lunch, the self portrait has seen quite the resurgence this week. Today, the best of the self beats out the best of the workplace.

Perhaps this was a celebratory shot, commemorating the rearrangement of furniture that now has me pointed in an entirely new direction when enthroned. And the heavens above, oh the thirty foot ceilings that hold an entire atmosphere of thoughts, an extension of mindspace.

More likely this is a testament to my refusal to decorate or otherwise stake claim to my abode. Really the closest I’ve come is the hanging of an empty picture frame on my thermostat (not pictured). Having only one thermostat, my other frame (seen against the wall here) sits idle and entirely underutilized for a frame of such decadent modesty.

In truth I was struck by the sheer brilliance of how I was sitting whilst watching something and set out to capture it. The two second timer, no matter how many times I set and sat, was not long enough for me to get into the natural posture of comfort that inspired it all. Ah well.
