Rest

In compiling something of a fashion portfolio I scoured the archives for all that was good. “Fashion” photography by my definition is about people looking good within some stylized context that, I may say, is distinctly removed from reality. So this is two of my buddies, entirely unstaged beyond “hold it real quick,” just standing around. But there’s a definite air about the photo that is way different than what it actually looked like.

This coloration has really grown on me as of late. I take the image to total black’n white and then split tone it (all parametrically) such that the brighter areas go yellow and the shadows go blue. Really does the trick for me.

And Man Right’s hand is perhaps the greatest detail in the shot. I’m not entirely sure why it stands out so, but my eye keeps landing on it. Strange.

And and and and…

  1. when did you get a 5d mark II? i remeber you showing me the 7d the day you got it, at the skatepark.

    • I occasionally borrow equipment from the photo lab at my school, so all of the 5dmII shots are on their gear. I’m still shooting on the 7D and loving it.
