Now that the skate park is defunct due to various ailments, say, an overall decrease in air temperature among other freak accidents/happenings/mysteries, my daily shooting routine seems to be shifting back to self portraiture. Apparently a couple weeks off makes a gus rusty. This shot here is the result of two hundred clicks trying to make something happen with my sweet new sweater (Thanks Number:Lab!). After a ton of experimentation and near great images my patience wore a bit thin and this happened.

So the core of this photo is the expression. The very thing I had been trying to master for the past two hours apparently without flashes of genius (luck). There’s feeling here. Maybe. I can’t quite tell yet. It’s difficult being in the same mood as the fellow pictured here, trying to describe to others what this look feels like, when it’s more likely that it’s just how I’m actually feeling, regardless of the image.

It’s a fine composition and I brought the color into something I quite like. It’s just not what I was gunning for.

I guess the important thing for me is that I have now documented me wearing this sweater. It’s my favorite photo barter item yet. My highly fashionable compatriot gives her nod of approval and I now feel that I have escaped the t-shirt plague at least once a week. Had I been paid cash for the work, this photo would not exist.
