Spent another afternoon at the skate park. I’m still mostly just trying to figure it out, and I suspect that’ll take another while before I’m really comfortable. I recall a profile I read on a photographer who started out shooting skateboarding that raved about how good it makes you (at photography) due to an incredible importance of timing, and … some other aspects that I can’t bring to mind.
Something struck me about this shot as being particularly oceanic. All of these heaping structures that crest and fall with deep shadows abounding. Also the scale of the rider, being this small figure deep in a swell. Give it about a half a second and he’ll rise up over one of those bumps and then drop into the next.
I’d ramble on, but that sums it up on this one.
