Sidewalk Strolling
Heading back into the thick of the metropolis today. I will be walking. Camera will probably be in hand. Total distance and time unknown. But there’s a real possibility more photos like this will come about. This was perhaps one of five I grabbed whilst walking about 10 feet behind the Subject. It was enough street clatter to evaporate the sound of my shutter.
My appreciation of this particular image has grown on me quite a bit. Perhaps it’s the separation of the actual shooting it. When I see it now, as opposed to two weeks ago, I don’t remember anything else from the environment. All of those details have kind of drifted from memory and it’s all been distilled now down to this frame. I know the color wasn’t anything like what’s seen here. I have forgotten the kind of apprehension (felt while shooting this) that builds when you’re trying to photograph someone without disturbing them, or even making them aware of the event.
It looks more and more like a handbag advertisement. An advertisement plucked from the simple sight in front of me.
Can’t miss my train, more tomorrow!
