While there isn’t an epic crash or any heart-thumping emotion here, this here beverage is making serious inroads into tournament bike polo. The last two championships I’ve attended had dedicated coffee bars on site for those few of us who don’t wake up with FOUR (high caffeine high proof body wrecker). This here coffee was from the ESPI5 in Brooklyn not too long ago, and if you haven’t checked out my collection of images from that, CLICK HERE! (seriously, it’s my best work to date).
Happening upon this circle within a square reminded me of an exercise in a graphic design course back in my youth (2008 or so). You got to place a black circle in a white square. Then two circles. Then three. Etc… with the idea of creating the most dynamic or most static compositions possible. And it ain’t subjective, no sir.
Color’s working for me. That kind of barely-blueish grey in the asphalt, like a brand new steel screw that’s been coated with something, though certainly not hot-dipped galvanized (my current job has me dealing with about 50k different kind of Class C Fasteners [screws]). Against that pale indefinite blur is the glowing halo of a paper rim, casting its blessings on the cool amber below.
Yaddayaddayadda, coffee at polo!
