So I was hanging out on a fashion photography blog called Touch Puppet (may be NSFW at times) when I came across this image (click here). There’s a caption that identifies it as a scan, but it occurred to me that I could probably achieve something close to that effect with my dear friend Photoshop. Voila! One hour or so later and the above image is brought into existence. Now that I look at it and compare I’m seeing all sorts of other things I could have done, but alas, that’ll be for next time.

Frequent followers will notice that I posted this image a month or so back. I found it fit the bill for a magazine mockup given its inherent fashion-ness. And I still love it.

Perhaps the most fun part of this process was making up names of clothing companies. GWH, sound familiar? Most of you probably don’t know my middle name. We can just leave that at Good Will Hunting Clothiers.

I’ve been looking at this for too long and I have permanently lost all first-impression-capabilities, so the question is, does this look like it could be a magazine? Not in the quality of the image or anything, but does it look like a scanned two-page spread? Does the coffee stain help at all? I was playing around with that typeface trying to make it look like a high fashion spread (more Vogue than Seventeen… but wait… I don’t have any idea).

Ahhhh, Photoshop.
